Zone 5 Bowling Association
Formed on 1st January, 2016 Zone 5 is one of 16 zones in New South Wales and comprises of 24 clubs and approximately 2170 members, both male and female.
Geographically the zone covers a large area of mid-western and south western New South Wales. Clubs in the Blue Mountains include Lawson, Hazelbrook, Springwood and Glenbrook. At the foot of the mountains are Penrith, Wallacia, Kingswood and St Marys. In the north west of Sydney there are Richmond, Windsor, Pitt Town and Wisemans Ferry. On the edge of the metropolitan area there are Blacktown City and Blacktown Workers. As we head south there are Austral, Campbelltown, Camden and Camden RSL. In the southern tablelands there are Picton, Bargo, Robertson, Bundanoon, Taralga and Bowral.
Zone 5 has an executive committee which is responsible for all bowls matters. The executive consists of a President, two Vice Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer and three ordinary committee members. The executive is elected every two years and reports to the club delegates on a regular basis. Operational committees for Match, Selection, Coaching, Umpires, Systems Admin and Juniors are appointed and are responsible for their respective areas. They report directly to the executive committee.
The zone has been proactive in recent years, adopting new technology to administer all zone events online using the Bowls Australia Bowlslink IT system as well as live streaming as many matches as possible.
