Closure of Blacktown City Bowls Club No.539 – Zone5

Hi all, it is with a sad heart that I am advising you of the closure of our club. Blacktown Bowling Club later known as Blacktown City affiliated with Royal NSW Bowling Association in January 1953 and was involved in the formation of Nepean District Bowling Association that year.  I have been told that there was a time when the Club would fill three (3) greens of bowlers with others on standby. There is no record of the number of pennant flags won by this proud club but there were many during its seventy (70) years. The closure of the Registered Club back in 2020 due to COVID, was a disappointment to our bowlers but loyally prevailed and the club continued until membership numbers began to decline and the club was unable to be enter pennants etc. I have attached a point history of our club along with the reason for closure and if you have any questions, please send me an email rpe8417@bigpond.net.au and I will endeavor to answer them.  Regards Russell Pearse – Treasurer Blacktown City Bowling Club
